SENIOR JURIST
A competition is being announced for a senior jurist (civil servant) position
for an indefinite period
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Professionals who are responsible, courageous, and collaboration-oriented colleagues who can provide legal expertise in a dynamic work environment, who are ready to defend the interests of the state in Latvia and abroad, and meet the following requirements:
Compliance with the requirements of Part 5 of Article 3 of the Diplomatic and Consular Service Law and the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law;
Jurist qualification;
At least 5 years of experience in state administration or legal matters resolution;
Ability to express and argue opinions orally and in writing, conversation management and communication skills;
Ability to make independent decisions, promptly resolve complex issues under high-intensity conditions, and take responsibility;
Ability to assess priorities, plan, and organize work execution within specified deadlines;
Willingness to continuously improve your knowledge and skills;
English language proficiency at least at B2 level for work in the Foreign Service; knowledge of other foreign languages will be considered an advantage;
Experience in drafting and evaluating civil law contracts, internal and external regulations, and other document projects.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide legal support for the ministry's functions and tasks;
Draft and evaluate civil law contracts, internal and external regulations, and other document projects, arguing your opinion;
Prepare opinions on draft legal acts prepared by other institutions;
Prepare responses to institutions and private persons;
Represent the ministry in courts and prepare documents related to litigation processes.
