Main job responsibilities: provide legal advice and support to department employees; draft and review legal acts, internal regulatory acts, council decision drafts and other legal document projects; prepare, evaluate, coordinate and legally oversee the contract conclusion process; prepare responses to applications, complaints and suggestions, providing legal opinions; represent the department and participate in council sessions, committees, commissions and working groups; cooperate with municipal structural units, state institutions and other cooperating organizations on legal matters; monitor changes in regulatory acts and ensure their application in the department's work; perform other legal duties corresponding to the position's competence. Position requirements and necessary knowledge higher academic or second-level professional higher education in legal sciences with a lawyer qualification; prior legal work experience in the last five years in a lawyer position at a state or municipal institution, providing legal support in education, culture and/or sports sectors, will be considered an advantage; knowledge of legal acts regulating state administration and municipal operations; work experience in drafting external and internal regulatory acts of the municipality will be considered an advantage; good communication, business communication and analytical skills, ability to work independently and in a team, organize work, take initiative and responsibility; ability to make well-reasoned decisions quickly and work in a dynamic environment; good skills in working with MS Office software; state language knowledge at the advanced level in accordance with the requirements of the State Language Law; We offer: interesting, dynamic and responsible work; professional development opportunities; normal working week – 40 hours; work location at Konrāda Street 5, Mārupe, Mārupes Municipality; monthly salary starting from 2347.00 (probation period) to 2524.00 EUR before tax deductions, considering professional experience, competence and work results; social guarantees: health insurance, additional leave, vacation benefits and other motivating elements.
