We are now seeking two or more experienced lawyers who will handle cases and make decisions on various types of permits in the healthcare sector and support the rest of the agency in various legal matters. About the position As a lawyer at the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), you will contribute to ensuring that the agency's operations are legally sound. You will work with handling cases and making decisions on various types of permits in the healthcare sector and in matters under the Act (2024:238) on the determination of sex in certain cases. The role involves being a case officer and presenting officer in some matters and decision-maker in others. The position may also include providing legal support to the National Board of Health and Welfare's Legal Council (Rättsliga rådet) in its case handling. You will also work with qualified legal advice and investigation in, among other things, administrative law matters for other parts of the agency. Your work tasks may include, for example, developing regulations, responding to referrals, handling matters concerning the disclosure of documents, participating in the agency's work on government assignments, and conducting training for the agency's employees. The Unit for Agency Law 1 supports the agency in various legal areas such as administrative law and matters concerning public access and confidentiality, as well as data protection, register, and statistics legislation. The unit provides, among other things, legal support in connection with the agency's various processing of personal data, in connection with handling matters involving private parties and appeals of the agency's decisions, and responds to referrals within the unit's area of operation. The unit also develops regulations and general advice regarding, among other things, the social data registers maintained by the agency. The unit has approximately 15 employees and we share responsibility for our work. We are seeking you if you have - A law degree or equivalent law degree - Completed notarial service or other experience that the agency considers equivalent - Several years of current work experience in legal work at an administrative agency or court - Current experience working with case handling initiated by a private party (exercise of public authority) - Very good knowledge of administrative law and experience working with administrative law matters - Good knowledge of the regulations concerning public documents and public access and confidentiality, as well as experience working with confidentiality reviews and disclosure of public documents - Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish It is meritorious if you have - Experience working with healthcare law or social law matters - Experience working in an advisory role - Experience with legislative work at an agency or from the Government Offices - Good knowledge of data protection regulations Good to know The positions are one or two permanent full-time employments that begin with a six-month probationary period and a time-limited employment of approximately one year, all with commencement as soon as possible. You will be based at the office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week. In spring 2027, the agency will move to newly renovated premises in Solna Strand. Your job title will be Lawyer and your placement will be in the Legal Department, Unit for Agency Law 1.
