The unit will be established to handle PTS's mandate as a market surveillance authority under the AI Regulation. The unit will also be tasked with establishing and operating the national regulatory sandbox, which the AI Regulation requires. "My name is Ida Ek, and I am recruiting for this position. About the Role As a lawyer, you will be an important person in preparing for the tasks that PTS is proposed to receive as a result of the EU's AI Regulation and later in the organization that will handle the new tasks. You will work with the interpretation and application of the AI Regulation and related legislation such as GDPR, administrative law, and EU law. The work includes, among other things, market surveillance and oversight, legal investigations, developing guidance and information for those affected by the regulation, and formulating regulations in the field. You will also participate in the development of regulatory test environments and the implementation of regulatory sandbox projects. The role involves close collaboration with technical experts and other competencies to contribute to lawful AI use. You will also work with other Swedish authorities and EU member states and conduct training for external stakeholders, for example through workshops and seminars. The position may involve travel of varying extent to participate in external and international meetings. You are relationship-building and have the ability to communicate complex issues in an understandable way to different target groups and professions. At the same time, you work in a structured manner, identify needs, drive your work independently, and can manage multiple parallel tasks within different areas related to the AI Regulation. For us, your personal qualities are important, so we will place great emphasis on these. We are looking for someone with: A law degree of 270 credits or another academic degree in law/legal science of at least 180 credits. Several years of professional experience in qualified legal work. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English. It is also advantageous if you have: Relevant experience working with oversight or market surveillance. Relevant experience in qualified work with EU legal issues, such as EU legislative processes or implementation of EU law in national legislation. Several years of professional experience in qualified legal work within public administration. Relevant experience working with law related to digitalization, such as the AI Regulation, Digital Services Act, or related legislation. Relevant experience in technology-related law.
