Company Description
Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. The Vattenfall Group has approximately 21,000 employees. We have electrified industries, delivered energy to homes, and transformed life through innovation for over a hundred years.
About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can contribute to making a real difference for both society and the energy transition? With us, you are part of a socially important operation and get to work on exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and with colleagues who value each other.
Vattenfall Eldistribution is at the heart of the energy transition and plays a central role in the powerful electrification taking place in society. We are building tomorrow's power grid today and operate socially critical infrastructure that distributes over half of all electricity produced in Sweden. Our mission is genuinely important – become part of Vattenfall Eldistribution!
We are now seeking a colleague for our legal business support unit within the Permits & Rights department.
The unit consists of approximately 55 employees who work, among other things, to secure new permits and rights for power lines, which are prerequisites for the company to build and maintain the electricity grid. As legal business support, you support the unit across the entire country - from Kiruna in the north to Malmö in the south.
This is a specialist role where you serve as the unit's legal expert support. You do not work operationally in projects but support the business in complex legal matters related to permits and land access.
As legal business support, you work broadly and in an advisory capacity on legal matters within the unit's area of responsibility. You have a central role in translating law into practical solutions for the business.
You will, among other things:
- Support and provide advice on legal matters within the unit
- Be the primary responsible for legal guidance within the unit
- Monitor and influence the development of concession and land access proceedings
- Participate in external collaboration forums with authorities, among others
- Contribute to legal environmental monitoring within the unit's mission
- Negotiate cooperation agreements with municipalities and other landowners
- Serve as a reviewing body in the development of new and modified contract templates within the unit's area of responsibility
Requirements
We are looking for you who:
- Have several years of experience working on legal matters related to land access, surveying proceedings, property formation, or land and development issues
- Have an academic degree in law, surveying, or equivalent field
- Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Hold a Class B driver's license
Meritorious for the Position:
We place great importance on your personal qualities and believe that you possess a high degree of self-leadership, are unpretentious, outgoing, and have an aptitude for collaboration. Because the role involves many contact points both internally and externally, we see that you are communicative and comfortable expressing yourself professionally in both speech and writing, and are accustomed to providing advice to non-lawyers. You enjoy working in a group and have a solution-oriented, structured, and orderly work approach.
