Jokkmokk Municipality is now seeking a waste management director responsible for leading, developing and monitoring the municipality's work within waste, recycling, reuse and park maintenance. Waste management is an important part of the municipality's basic service to residents, businesses and visitors. The assignment includes, among other things, garbage collection, recycling centers, customer contacts, sorting, reuse, information and development of sustainable waste management throughout the municipality. Currently, park maintenance is also included in the waste management operations. DUTIES As a waste management director, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's waste management operations. You lead the daily work, plan the operations in the short and long term and drive development issues within waste, recycling, reuse and park maintenance. The assignment includes, among other things: • lead, plan and monitor waste management operations • be responsible for the operation and development of the municipality's recycling centers • be responsible for planning, coordination and monitoring of the municipality's park maintenance • work with personnel planning, management and work environment • monitor finances, budget, fees, agreements and operational goals • coordinate work with contractors, authorities, residents, businesses and other stakeholders • ensure good service and clear information to the municipality's citizens • develop working methods for sorting, reuse and reduced waste volumes • participate in procurement, projects, investments and reinvestments within the operational area • contribute to ensuring that operations are conducted in a safe, efficient and environmentally sustainable manner You will become an important link between the operational activities, the municipality's residents, contractors and other parts of the community and infrastructure function. The role involves both practical proximity to the operations and strategic responsibility for development, quality and monitoring. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has relevant education in, for example, environment, technology, civil engineering, logistics, operations management or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You may also have acquired corresponding knowledge through work experience. It is meriting if you have experience in waste management, recycling, reuse activities, municipal technical operations or other socially important operational activities. Experience in management, budget responsibility, procurement, contractor follow-up or work in a politically governed organization is also meriting. We would like to see that you have: • good ability to lead and create structure in a practical operational operation • experience in personnel management and work environment work • good financial understanding and experience of budget and cost monitoring • ability to communicate clearly with residents, employees, contractors and authorities • interest in environmental issues, service, outdoor environments and sustainable community development • good administrative ability and experience working digitally As a person you are confident, clear and solution-oriented. You find it easy to cooperate, but can also make decisions and drive issues forward. You are comfortable moving between planning and practical reality, and have the ability to see both the whole picture and the details in an operation that affects many people every day.
