There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not meet the requirements for upper secondary education. At the non-profit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your expertise and commitment to help more students achieve the eligibility requirements with confidence for the future. For the autumn term 2026, we are looking for tutors in Västra Frölunda who want to help lay the foundation for a good school year! We are looking for someone interested in a paid part-time job while also wanting to make a concrete social contribution. The position is an hourly employment in the afternoons/evenings and briefly involves being a tutor after school at one of our partner schools. With us, you work in a team of three tutors, all of whom are university students. You will receive training in, and work according to, our structured approach. Each tutoring group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work. As a tutor, you can either work as a regular tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work 6 hours per week spread over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (opportunity for extra substitute shifts available). As a substitute, you work when regular tutors are on leave or sick. The work is performed after school in the school's premises. We are looking for someone who: - Is a university or college student - Has pedagogical ability and can communicate and build relationships with children and young people. - Is solution-oriented, takes initiative, and can work according to our structured approach and method. - Has broad fundamental subject knowledge and good study skills. - Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the prerequisites to succeed in school and shape their own future. Since the job involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police's criminal record register to the employer is a statutory requirement to work with children and young people. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine how likely you are to succeed in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where it is needed most. Läxhjälpen is free for students, and the tutors' salaries are financed through support from the business community and public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today—increasing numbers of young people are not succeeding in school and risk being excluded from society. Carefully selected, paid university students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are also positive role models and mentors. Since our founding in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal—to improve grades and help students progress to upper secondary school. We currently operate in over 90 schools in Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Göteborg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö, among others.
