There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not meet upper secondary school eligibility requirements. At the nonprofit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students achieve the eligibility requirements with confidence for their future. For the fall term 2026, we are looking for homework tutors in Gothenburg who want to lay the foundation for a successful school year! We are looking for someone interested in a paid part-time job while also wanting to make a concrete societal contribution. The position is an hourly employment in afternoons/evenings and involves being a homework tutor after school at one of our partner schools. You work in a team of three homework tutors, all of whom are university students. You receive training in and work according to our structured approach. Each homework tutoring group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work. As a homework tutor, you can either work as a regular tutor or as a substitute. As a regular homework tutor, you work 6 hours per week divided over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (opportunities for extra substitute work are available). As a substitute, you work when regular tutors are on leave or sick. Work is performed after school in the school's facilities. We are looking for someone who: -Is a university or college student -Has a pedagogical ability and can communicate and build relationships with children and young people. -Is solution-oriented, takes initiative, and can work according to our structured approach and method. -Has broad foundational subject knowledge and good study techniques. -Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the conditions to succeed in school and shape their own future. Since the job involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an excerpt from the Swedish Police's criminal record register to the employer is a legal requirement for working with children and young people. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine the likelihood that you will succeed in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a nonprofit foundation that works where the need is greatest. Homework tutoring is free for students, and tutors' salaries are financed through support from the business sector and the public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today—that increasing numbers of young people are failing to succeed in school and risk being excluded from society. Carefully selected, paid university students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and simultaneously serve as positive role models and mentors. Since our founding in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal—to improve grades and help students progress to upper secondary school.
