I'm a 22-year-old woman with a unique personality. I have Wiedemann-Steiner syndrome, a rare condition that presents me with certain challenges but also many sources of joy. I have autistic traits and need support in my daily life. You will work with me at my home but also accompany me on days to my daily activities where I work.
I enjoy participating in everyday activities, such as helping in the laundry room and being around other people. Clothes, my stuffed animals, taking the elevator, exploring libraries, museums, and shopping centers are some of my favorite things. Outings and new adventures outside the home are included—I need your support to dare try new things. Sometimes I just want to relax and watch a movie.
Your tasks:
Support me with daily routines such as personal hygiene, bathroom visits, getting dressed and undressed, cleaning, shopping, and cooking.
Be a safe, calm, and empathetic presence.
Help me participate in activities and outings, and support me in daring to try new things.
Be positive, fun, and have a big, warm heart.
Desirable experience:
Knowledge of low-arousal approaches and visual supports.
Experience with TAKK (Sign as Alternative and Augmentative Communication).
Familiarity with PEG (feeding tube button).
Who are you?
Experience working with people with disabilities or in the care sector is desirable.
You are a woman.
You are active, responsible, and have a mature attitude toward work tasks.
Good communication skills and ability to build relationships.
Flexibility and creativity in coming up with new activities.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
WORK HOURS AND EMPLOYMENT LEVELS
Days, on-call nights, and weekends, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, 6:00 PM–7:00 AM on-call.
Extra shifts as needed.

YOUR SALARY
At Vivida, as an assistant you receive a fixed hourly base salary + vacation pay and possible shift differentials. A collective agreement is in place.
