The University-Wide IT Department works with strategic IT issues and is a service organization for shared services, with responsibilities including infrastructure, administration, service, and support. The department has approximately 200 employees divided across five units.
As an IT Technician in the first-line service desk, you are the users' first point of contact with IT support. You provide professional, efficient, and service-oriented assistance in a broad and complex IT environment, solving problems and contributing to a positive user experience.
Job Responsibilities
Receive and handle tickets via phone, email, and support portal
Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues remotely
Provide educational, professional, and service-oriented support to users
Ensure thorough documentation in the ticket management system
Follow established ITIL processes (incident and request management)
Follow up and provide feedback on tickets to users
Contribute to developing work processes, quality, and user support
Qualifications
Relevant IT education or equivalent experience
Excellent ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
Experience working with ticket management systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
Basic knowledge in:
o Windows, macOS (ideally also Linux)
o troubleshooting clients and peripherals
o Office, email, and common user services
o networking (DNS, DHCP, WiFi, VPN)

About the Position
This is a permanent position; a probationary period may be applied. Full-time (100%). Start date: September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
