About the Operation The IT Support operation within Region Västernorrland is tasked with providing comprehensive IT service delivery to our core operations, Regional Development, and Health and Medical Care. Within IT Support, the IT Healthcare Services unit has the responsibility to manage, together with core operations, IT components uniquely used by Health and Medical Care. All IT components managed serve business-critical purposes and are fundamental to the care provided within the region. An IT Specialist within Region Västernorrland works in a business-critical environment where IT support is absolutely essential for Health and Medical Care's daily operations. The role sits at the intersection of technology, healthcare operations, and administration, and contributes directly to safe, stable, and efficient healthcare delivery in the region. The role involves: Managing, further developing, and quality-assuring IT components used specifically within health and medical care. Ensuring operational reliability and availability for systems that are critical to healthcare work. Acting as a link between IT and healthcare operations, with focus on needs assessment, requirements specification, incident management, and planning. Contributing to the region's work on digitalization, standardization, and modernization of healthcare-related IT services. We are seeking three IT Specialists. These are permanent full-time positions with start dates by agreement. Work locations: Sundsvall, Sollefteå, or Örnsköldsvik. Responsibilities Technical management of healthcare systems and medical applications Troubleshooting, incident and problem management Collaboration with suppliers and internal management teams Leading and/or participating in change management, release management, and lifecycle planning Participating in projects related to operations development Documentation, quality assurance, and work according to the region's frameworks (e.g. PM3, ITIL) Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has technical secondary or higher education in IT or relevant experience that the employer finds suitable for the position Has experience working with IT in larger organizations with complex environments Has experience managing business-critical systems and systematic improvement work Has experience with incident/problem management and technical application operations Has experience working according to PM3, ITIL, or similar frameworks Has experience with business-focused IT work, preferably within healthcare or the public sector Has experience working with projects, system implementations, release management, and change management Has excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written Has excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written Holds a valid B driving license It is advantageous if you: Have certifications in PM3, ITIL, project management, leadership, or Agile methodologies For success in this role, we believe you have these personal qualities: Self-directed Stable Service-oriented Quality-conscious About Region Västernorrland With approximately 7,000 employees and over 200 professions, Region Västernorrland is responsible for several of the operations that are most important for residents' ability to participate in society.
