IT Security Engineer in International High-Tech Environment

About the Role As an IT Security Engineer, you'll have a broad technical role at the intersection of cybersecurity, networking, and modern IT infrastructure. The operation consists of several types of technical environments – including development, production, and office environments – where security needs to work both in the cloud and in physical infrastructure. What sets this opportunity apart is its breadth. Instead of working with a limited part of cybersecurity, you'll follow security all the way – from networks and endpoints to identity, cloud, logging, and compliance. You'll also be joining an organization with advanced proprietary technology, international collaborations, and high demands on security and robustness. Security work is under continuous development, which means you won't just take over someone else's solution – you'll get to help shape how it should look going forward. Key Responsibilities A large part of the role involves ensuring that the right security level is in place when new environments, systems, and technical solutions are established. This could mean setting up security monitoring and logging for a new environment, configuring network segments and firewall rules, securing clients and servers, or ensuring proper permissions in Azure. At the same time, you'll be involved in developing the organization's overall security capabilities. There is room to identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, and translate security requirements and frameworks into practical technology. The role also involves close collaboration with technical colleagues internationally, which gives you the opportunity to work on security issues across multiple environments and geographies. Examples of tasks: Build on the organization's solutions for security monitoring, log management, and SIEM Ensure that clients and servers have proper protection, such as EDR, security sensors, and logging Work with network segmentation and configure switches, firewalls, and security rules Manage identities, roles, permissions, and access in Azure Work with endpoint management and security policies, for example through Intune Participate in establishing new technical environments and ensure that security by design permeates the solution Work with vulnerability management, hardening, and other technical security measures Document changes, security configurations, and working methods Contribute to developing the organization's security work based on established frameworks and compliance requirements We're Looking for You If You Have relevant post-secondary education in IT, cybersecurity, or equivalent Have practical, hands-on experience in IT or cybersecurity in security-critical environments, preferably from the defense industry or other security-sensitive environments Have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English It's a plus if you have previously worked in, for example, a SOC, been involved in building or developing an IT security environment, or have experience with Azure, Intune, and modern cloud environments. We believe you're curious about the entire security field and enjoy understanding how the technology actually fits together. You don't need to want to specialize in just one tool or part of cybersecurity – on the contrary, this role suits you if you enjoy the combination of networks, cloud, clients, identity, and security monitoring. You are proactive and comfortable identifying what needs improvement, coming up with suggestions, and driving the work forward yourself. At the same time, you work in a structured manner and understand the importance of documentation, traceability, and clear processes in a security-critical environment. Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to be part of building.
