Your Role
As an IT Security Specialist, you work closely with our platforms and services and are responsible for ensuring that the right level of security is in place and functions in practice.
You operate at the intersection between requirements and technical delivery.
This means you:
Interpret and concretize what IT security requirements apply to our platforms and services
Translate security requirements into concrete and feasible measures
Follow up to ensure they are correctly implemented
Identify shortcomings and ensure they are addressed
The work includes, among other things, risk and vulnerability analyses, security monitoring and controls, security surveillance (SOC) and incident handling, continuity, recovery and backup, review of architecture and changes, and monitoring of suppliers.
The role involves directing, prioritizing, and following up on security work, rather than personally implementing all technical measures.
The role requires you to have a good understanding of how security works in both on-premises environments and cloud services.
We are looking for you
Who has a technical foundation in IT security and who enjoys a role where you take responsibility for the whole picture.
We are looking for someone who has:
Several years of experience in IT security in a technical environment
Experience with security in platforms and services in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)
Experience with risk and vulnerability analyses and translating these into measures
Experience with security incidents and follow-up
And good technical understanding within:
Identity and access (IAM)
Microsoft environment (Azure and Microsoft 365 or equivalent)
Endpoint, network, and infrastructure security, including segmentation, and basic understanding of backup and recovery
Security monitoring (SOC) and understanding of incident handling, continuity, and recovery
You also have experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, or Entra ID, and work with security reviews, vulnerability scanning, or supplier monitoring.
You:
Understand how security is implemented in platforms and infrastructure
Can prioritize based on risk and business value
Don't get bogged down in details but drive the work forward
Are clear in your communication and can collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders
About the Environment:
You work within Digital Platforms and Services, a central function responsible for Mälarenergi's shared IT platforms.
The environment includes, among other things, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID, client platform (Windows 11 and Intune), server and infrastructure platforms (on-premises and cloud) including network, segmentation, and backup, as well as security and information protection (Defender and Purview) and integration platform.
It is a hybrid environment with high demands for security, availability, and control.
