Do you want to help build SMHI's capability to protect information and operations, and translate security requirements into technical architecture? We are now seeking an IT Security Architect with a focus on security protection and secure system development for our IT Architecture team. As an IT Security Architect, you will have an important role as the link between security protection, information security, legal, and systems & infrastructure development teams. The IT Department at SMHI is responsible for ensuring that SMHI's operations have access to user-friendly, cost-effective, and appropriate IT services and tools. The IT Architecture Unit, which is part of the IT Department, has overall responsibility for the development of SMHI's IT architecture and works with quality assurance and compliance of the architecture across all of SMHI's operations. The Unit works with conducting investigations, accrediting new systems, managing assignments and projects, environmental monitoring, and represents SMHI in international organizations within technology and architecture. About the Role The role involves managing assignments within security protection and IT security architecture across the entire agency or parts of it, and/or external organizations such as MCF, FM, SSM, other meteorological institutes, or other partner organizations. The role also includes strategically and tactically ensuring SMHI's cyber and IT security. Your responsibilities will include: Agency-wide IT architecture with a main focus on security protection and secure system development Development of application guidelines within IT security and security protection Advice on IT security, security protection, and architecture Development of the architecture for SMHI's secure environment Environmental monitoring, both technical and legal Development of secure system development practices, such as release processes and code management About You We are looking for someone with a university degree in computer science, data science, or similar. Alternatively, you have other experience that SMHI considers equivalent. A requirement for the position is that you have knowledge and experience within Cyber and IT Security Architecture. It is advantageous if you have: Experience with security protection Experience with secure system development and system development in an IT environment for security-protected information Experience working with Security Architecture and IT Security Experience with system administration in secure environments Experience working with IT security and/or security architecture application guidelines Knowledge of security protection and signal protection within Swedish agencies Experience with operational work on security incidents Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. To succeed in the role, you must be self-directed, confident, and stable with good self-awareness. You make sound assessments and prioritizations and are guided by ethics and values in critical work situations. Since deficiencies in security solutions can have serious consequences, you must be thorough and well aware of goals and quality standards. You have strong communication skills and ensure that messages are understood and that expectations are clear for all stakeholders. The role involves collaboration with both managers and employees across the entire agency, which requires that you have a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and you have previous experience working with office support products for documentation. If you also have knowledge of tools within system development, system administration, vulnerability scanning, and security log analysis, this is advantageous.
