In the East Region, there are currently three IT forensics groups located in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, Norrköping, Linköping, and Jönköping. The groups belong to the region's IT Crime Center (RC3), which is part of the regional investigation unit that, together with police districts, is responsible for the region's investigation activities. The regional IT crime center is an organizational unit where various competencies in digital crime investigation are represented. IT Forensics handles all types of investigations within the Police Authority where digital evidence needs to be secured, processed, and analyzed. 6 position(s). WORK DUTIES As an IT Forensics Specialist, your work duties will include assisting investigators with forensic evidence and information security of digital media, which can constitute an important part of a criminal investigation. The work duties include planning, securing, extracting, analyzing, and evaluating digital traces from electronic devices or sources. Technological development in society is a challenge for our operations, and we see an increasing influx of AI-generated material, which affects our work and requires increased competency in the field and that we keep up with developments. Work duties: • You will provide operational assistance during house searches where, for example, electronic data carriers need to be secured. • Document and write protocols on completed assignments. • When needed, provide witness testimony in connection with court proceedings and assist during interrogations. • Be part of the police region's IT forensics emergency readiness. • You may be exposed to material that can be shocking and unpleasant through your work. Travel occurs both within the region and nationally, and sometimes with short notice. QUALIFICATIONS • Post-secondary education in IT security/IT forensics, or alternatively other work experience or education that the authority deems relevant • Broad knowledge of IT • Good knowledge of commonly used hardware, operating systems, and networks that the employer deems relevant • Very good knowledge of Swedish • Very good knowledge of English • B-category driver's license We consider it meritorious if you also have: • Documented AI competency. • Experience in gathering, analyzing, and compiling information. • Experience handling classified information and dealing with material that may be perceived as offensive. • The ability to investigate malicious code, particularly in Python but also in C, C++, and Java. • Experience repairing electronics, for example mobile phone screens or contacts.
