About the Authority The Swedish Authority for Security and Privacy Protection is a government agency tasked with assisting the Security and Privacy Protection Board, a special decision-making body within the authority, in its oversight of, among other things, the use of secret coercive measures and qualified protective identities by law enforcement agencies, as well as the processing of personal data by the Police Authority and the Security Police in law enforcement activities. In delegations within the authority, matters are handled regarding, for example, permits for qualified protective identities and cases concerning register checks. Read more at www.msi.se Work Tasks As IT Manager, you work independently with significant responsibility and variety in your work tasks. You are responsible for the authority's IT systems and contacts with IT vendors who handle operational management and administration. An important part of the assignment is to contribute to the development and adaptation of the authority's IT environment based on the organization's needs. The job includes identifying development areas, preparing materials for assessments, and ensuring that measures are implemented following decisions. You work with needs and requirements analysis, procurement, project management, and coordination of IT matters. You also work to strengthen the authority's cyber and information security in close collaboration with, among others, the authority's security and security protection chief. Furthermore, you work with security technical systems and other IT-related tasks, such as inventorying, auditing, administration of access rights and equipment, telephony, website and application procurement, etc. The role includes operational support in day-to-day operations. You serve as a natural point of contact for technical questions and assist with everything from user support and troubleshooting to managing printers, workstations, peripherals, and other technical challenges that may arise in daily work. Work is conducted in close collaboration with colleagues in the administrative unit. The unit consists of five employees with expertise in HR, economics, law, and administration, plus a unit manager. As we are a smaller authority, we work closely together and help each other to achieve common goals. This means that work tasks can sometimes extend beyond your own area of responsibility. About You We are looking for someone who has: ·a university or college degree in data science, systems science, or other relevant post-secondary education that the authority deems equivalent, and ·several years of experience working in a similar role at a government agency or other public organization. It is meritorious if you have: ·experience working in security-sensitive operations, ·worked with signal protection, cyber and information security, or security technical systems, ·experience in collaboration for IT operations between government agencies, and ·experience in project management, IT management, and vendor management. Personal Qualities You have good judgment, are meticulous and quality-conscious, and have the ability to see the whole picture in order to translate the organization's needs into concrete solutions. You take own initiatives and have a strong ability to independently structure, plan, and drive your work forward. We place high demands on security and confidentiality, which requires that you have a high security awareness and great meticulousness in your work. Good collaborative skills are necessary to succeed in this assignment. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. About the Employment Employment form: Permanent. The authority applies a six-month probationary period. Job title: IT Manager Scope: Full-time Start date: By agreement Since the position is classified as security-sensitive, Swedish citizenship is required. Approved security clearance with register check is a prerequisite for employment. Other Information The authority changed its management structure on March 1, 2026. The authority then transitioned from being a board agency led by the Security and Privacy Protection Board to becoming a single-director agency led by a Director. In connection with this change, the authority changed its name from the Security and Privacy Protection Board to the Swedish Authority for Security and Privacy Protection.
