The Support and Shipping Unit (SRE) is a central support function within the Swedish Coast Guard's materials and facility supply department. The unit serves as a hub for specialist expertise in maritime safety, technical services, logistics, and operations development and helps ensure that the authority's vessels, equipment, and support systems can be used safely, efficiently, and sustainably in the long term. Job Responsibilities Do you want to take a leading role in developing the Swedish Coast Guard's future lifecycle support? We are seeking a senior ILS/IPS engineer who wants to combine technical specialist expertise with the opportunity to build and establish IPS (Integrated Product Support) within a mission-critical operation. The role involves significant personal responsibility and considerable authority to influence how the Swedish Coast Guard manages the lifecycle of technical systems. You will be a key person in developing processes, working methods, and requirements specifications while also supporting the organization on strategic and operational matters related to procurement, modification, operations, and maintenance. Qualifications We are seeking someone with: Engineering degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or systems engineering. Multiple years of experience working in ILS/IPS or equivalent areas. Experience with requirements specification in procurement, preferably with industry or shipyard operations. Experience independently managing development work, establishing working methods, or leading specialized areas. Good understanding of lifecycle perspective, from concept development through operations and decommissioning. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. It is advantageous if you also have: Experience from maritime operations, the defense sector, or state authorities. Knowledge of LCC, RAM, and logistics support. Experience with public procurement. Experience establishing or developing IPS/ILS processes in a larger organization.
