Description Resident Guides is an initiative that works to reach more residents with important civic information and strengthen local democratic participation. Today we have resident guides working in three of our city districts (Hisingen, Northeast, Southwest). Job Responsibilities As a Resident Guide, you will work as a communication channel between Gothenburg City's services and residents of Hisingen. As a resident guide, you work in an outreach capacity in various settings, often in streets and public squares. You will have meetings, conversations, and dialogues in public environments and settings. You will work on various assignments, many of which focus on health. Your responsibilities include: 1. Distributing information and speaking with residents in squares and streets. 2. Working in an outreach capacity to reach the target audience. 3. Organizing or participating in activities in the local area, for example at a market day. 4. As a resident guide, you help provide insight into residents' opinions and thoughts. You will be part of a working group with several resident guides and have a local coordinator to support the planning of your work. This position is a project-based employment ending 2028-12-31. Qualifications For this position, you must have a strong interest and commitment to matters concerning society and democracy. You have a broad network of contacts and good standing in the Hisingen city district. For example, through being or having been active in an association, volunteer work, or a civil society organization working in the area. We see that you have a strong interest in health matters. If you also have education or other experience in health, fitness, or similar fields, we view that as a merit. You speak Swedish and English fluently, and if you also have other language skills, for example Arabic, Somali, or one of our national minority languages, we consider that a merit. To manage the work tasks well, it is important that you are communicative, can provide clear information, and adapt your communication based on your audience. You should also be comfortable in social interactions, both informal and formal. You stand by decisions made and can convey difficult messages when needed. It is also important that you can collaborate with others to perform tasks and achieve set goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you work toward a respectful work environment. You are also service-oriented and have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you make an effort to find solutions.
