Interim Chief of Staff – 50% | Start ASAP–December 2026

We are seeking an experienced interim Chief of Staff for a consulting assignment in a municipal organization that is in a development phase. The assignment involves leading and developing a newly established staff unit with responsibility for governance, analysis, security, preparedness, and management support. As Chief of Staff, you will work closely with the Municipal Director and be part of the municipality's management team. A central part of the assignment is to create structure, clarity, and coherence, as well as develop common working methods and processes. The assignment includes, among other things: Lead and develop the municipality's overall governance and monitoring processes Ensure effective and legally sound decision-making and preparation processes Develop work in analysis, decision-making support, and management assistance Lead and develop work in security, preparedness, and crisis management Create a framework for risk management and continuity planning Lead specialist functions and create effective collaboration within the staff Drive development and change initiatives and establish clear roles and working methods We are looking for you who: Have relevant academic education, for example in political science, public administration, or equivalent Have a strong understanding of governance, decision-making processes, and politically-driven operations Have experience in qualified management or staff work Have experience leading development and change initiatives in complex organizations Are a confident and clear leader with the ability to create structure and direction Have strong collaboration skills, high integrity, and a strategic holistic perspective About the assignment Scope: Approximately 50% Start: As soon as possible Period: Until December 2026 Work arrangement: The assignment is conducted primarily on-site with the possibility for some remote work Application Send your CV and a brief presentation of your relevant experience.
