Interim Head of Business Transformation & Operations

About the Assignment On behalf of our client, People of Finance is seeking a senior interim consultant for a strategic leadership and transformation assignment within a larger knowledge-intensive organization. Our client's operations are undergoing a period of change and development where the organization, work methods, and business need to evolve in parallel. The focus includes creating more unified and efficient work processes, strengthening commercial development, and better leveraging opportunities within digitalization, automation, and AI. We are therefore seeking a commercially minded and change-driven leader who can combine strategic thinking with strong execution capability. The assignment is ideal for you if you are an economist experienced in entering organizations undergoing change, quickly understanding the business, and translating ambitions into concrete initiatives and results together with management and leaders. Location: Stockholm Scope: Full-time Start: September/October The Role You will have a central role in the organization's continued development and work closely with senior decision-makers and several experienced managers. The assignment will include: Drive change and transformation initiatives. Lead, support, and develop experienced managers. Develop and streamline processes and work methods. Create greater alignment and structure across different parts of the organization. Identify how AI, automation, and digital tools can contribute to both efficiency and a stronger customer offering. Contribute to the development of business models, pricing, packaging, and customer value. Work with resource, capacity, and operational management. Contribute to commercial development and improved profitability. Ensure that strategic decisions and initiatives are implemented in practice. Provide external perspectives and challenge established practices where there are opportunities to improve. Who Are We Looking For? We are seeking someone with experience in change management, transformation, and leadership from a larger or complex organization, preferably within finance functions with solid understanding of accounting. You do not need a traditional accounting background and you do not need to come from Big Four. Your experience could equally well come from banking and finance, management consulting, professional services, outsourcing, technology-driven transformation, or other knowledge-intensive service operations. What matters is that you understand how an organization built around people, expertise, customers, and delivery works and that you have the ability to see how it can be developed. We would welcome experience within several of the following areas: Change management and transformation. Leadership and development of other managers. Organizational and process development within finance functions. Digitalization, automation, and AI. Business development and commercial matters. Consulting or service-intensive operations. Implementation of new work methods. Resource and capacity management. Customer development, pricing, or service packaging. Experience within accounting, controlling, bookkeeping, or financial services is a plus. As a Person You are confident, commercially minded, and communicative, with the ability to build trust in an organization with many senior stakeholders. At the same time, you are curious and sufficiently independent to question existing practices and contribute new perspectives. You thrive best when strategy needs to be translated into action and when change needs to be implemented together with people, rather than merely planned. We also believe that you have a genuine interest in how technology, AI, and new business models will impact the future of knowledge and service organizations.
