Interim Business Controller

We are seeking an experienced and independent Business Controller for an extended interim assignment within a larger organization in the financial sector. The role involves independent controller responsibility where you work closely with the business and its leadership on follow-up, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and reporting. You will be part of the management team and play a central role in providing financial perspectives, analyses, and decision-making support. A key part of the assignment is monthly reporting, where you analyze results and developments and present the monthly report to the management team and department heads. The role has many touchpoints and is therefore ideal for someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with a communicative and business-oriented approach. Start: Beginning of October Duration: Approximately 12 months Scope: Full-time Location: Stockholm, Vasastan Example responsibilities: - Ongoing follow-up and analysis of business results - Budget and forecasting work - Business planning and financial decision support - Active participation in the management team - Development and presentation of monthly reporting - Close dialogue with managers and other key personnel in the organization - Identify opportunities to streamline and improve reporting and work processes - Independently drive controller matters and constructively challenge the business We are looking for you: - Have several years of experience as a Business Controller and are accustomed to independently managing an area. You are confident in your analysis and skilled at translating figures into clear conclusions, recommendations, and decision-making support. - Since you will be part of the management team, we are looking for someone who is communicative, personable, and comfortable in senior settings. You need to be comfortable presenting, arguing for your analyses, and be able to constructively challenge the business in a way that builds trust. - Experience from banking, insurance, or other financial services is highly desirable but not required. What matters most is a strong controller background and the ability to quickly understand a complex business and become self-sufficient. Systems and Tools: Work is primarily conducted in Excel and PowerPoint as well as in existing systems for forecasting and follow-up. Power BI is also used in reporting, but you do not need to be a specialist or developer in Power BI as you will collaborate with colleagues who have that expertise. The assignment is primarily business-focused and business-supporting, with the opportunity to simultaneously contribute to more efficient reporting and improved work processes.
