About the Position The Collections Unit within the Cultural History Museums in Gothenburg is responsible for caring for, developing, and providing access to the museums' collections. We are now seeking a temporary collections manager for an initial period of 11 months to work with the collections at the Maritime Museum and Aquarium, and to help make them relevant and accessible for both operations, the general public, and research. In this role, you will actively work with the collections by answering inquiries, processing acquisition requests, and registering and updating information in databases. You will contribute to building knowledge through research, basic scholarship, and work with archives and literature. The work also includes digitization and making collections accessible, where you will handle image materials, perform basic image processing, and ensure proper copyright management. You will share your expertise in the museum's subject areas through contact with colleagues, visitors, and researchers. The position involves working in the organization's digital systems and may also include other tasks based on the organization's needs. Working hours are during daytime. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: Academic bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as cultural heritage, history, museology, or another discipline deemed relevant by the employer Experience working with museum collections and collections management Experience working with databases or collection management systems Experience with knowledge building and research Experience with digitization and publishing of images Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Good digital skills and experience working in modern digital environments Knowledge of image editing software Who Thrives in This Role?
