We are now recruiting a superintendent who, together with colleagues at Uppsala University and the Police Authority, will be involved in developing the newly established Superintendent's Office for Police Work. The new superintendent's office is part of the Institute for Police Work which, together with the Faculty of Law, forms the Faculty of Law, which is Northern Europe's oldest law faculty and existed when the university was founded in 1477.
Job Responsibilities
As superintendent, you have a key role in ensuring that operations at the Superintendent's Office for Police Work function effectively, safely and with good quality, both in daily work and from a long-term perspective. You are responsible for creating structure, coordination and good conditions in an operation characterized by collaboration between different actors.
As superintendent, you are responsible for leading and coordinating work within the superintendent function and create good conditions for police education. The position includes management of employees within the superintendent's office for police work as well as close collaboration with employees at the Police Authority. You work closely with both the Police Authority and various functions within Uppsala University, where collaboration and clear communication are central.
In the role, you ensure that the daily operations of facilities and common areas function effectively and that work on work environment, environment and safety is conducted systematically and in accordance with applicable requirements. You conduct risk assessments, develop action plans and follow up on measures, particularly related to physical work environment, safety and property.
You perform minor maintenance measures and handle fault reports. You function as an important link between operations and property owners, facility services and other suppliers. The work also involves developing, implementing and following up on procedures in collaboration with relevant parties.
You are also responsible for orders, procurement and facility adjustments, and have assignments as an environmental officer and fire protection officer, which involves special responsibility for driving and following up on these areas.
Since the Institute and Superintendent's Office for Police Work are newly established and police education is new at Uppsala University, the work will also initially consist of, within the framework of existing regulations, being involved in creating procedures and processes for the superintendent's office and education. This means that you are willing and able to take on tasks that do not normally fall within the superintendent role when needed.
Qualification Requirements
Relevant education or equivalent work experience that the employer deems equivalent,
at least one year of experience in management,
at least one year of experience in collaboration with external authorities,
at least three years of experience in property management, technical administration or similar,
experience conducting risk assessments and working systematically with work environment,
basic knowledge of safety and property-related matters,
good knowledge of Office Suite or equivalent IT systems,
very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, spoken and written,
good knowledge of English, and
Class B driving license.

Desirable/Meriting Experience
Experience in security work,
experience with case management or fault reporting systems,
experience from a university or other public sector operations, and
knowledge in fire protection work.
About the Employment
The employment is permanent (probation may be applied). Full-time position. Start as soon as possible by mutual agreement. Location: Uppsala
