Curator of Education at Lund's Art

About the role and your responsibilities We are now seeking a Curator of Education responsible for leading and developing the art hall's educational activities. Main responsibilities The position is both strategic and operational, involving overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and developing the art hall's educational work. The assignment is carried out in close collaboration with the art hall's part-time art educators, communicator, and curators. The role includes leading, coordinating, and ensuring quality in the art hall's educational activities. This involves planning and developing school programs, guided tours, workshops, and public activities, as well as developing work with open studios and participant-based projects. You will personally conduct tours and workshops for children, young people, and adults, and produce audience-tailored texts for exhibitions and public programs. Emphasis is placed on initiating and driving development projects that explore new directions within art education. You will create and develop both internal and external collaborations, participate in relevant networks, and conduct research related to your work tasks. The assignment involves increasing knowledge and understanding of contemporary art among current and new visitor groups. We do this through increased accessibility and the development of new methods and approaches within art communication. Other responsibilities Lund's Art is an operation with a small and cohesive organization where staff work closely together and contribute across multiple areas. The position therefore also includes work with exhibition production and coordination during installation periods. Tasks may include coordinating transportation and the check-in and check-out of artworks. This part of the position corresponds to approximately 25 percent of working time. Close collaboration within the staff team involves give and take, which means the educator is included in the curator's work and vice versa.
