Experienced engineer in Instrument Maintenance – with focus on Reactor and Reactor-Adjacent Systems
The Position
We are looking for you with solid expertise in instrumentation, control, regulation, and monitoring systems connected to reactor and reactor-adjacent systems. You are offered a developing and responsible role in a technically advanced environment where safety, availability, and collaboration are in focus.
As an engineer in the Instrument Maintenance unit, you work long-term and strategically with instrument and control equipment in the facility's reactor and safety systems. The focus is on systems that monitor, control, and protect the reactor and its support functions, and how these interact with other facility systems to ensure safe, stable, and efficient electricity production.
Work tasks include troubleshooting, testing, analysis, and optimization of instrumentation, sensors, measurement chains, control functions, control systems, and interfaces with other technical areas. You work with systems related to, for example, reactor monitoring, reactor protection systems, neutron flux measurement, pressure and temperature measurement, level monitoring, emergency cooling systems, reactor containment, and other safety-classified and reactor-adjacent auxiliary systems. You actively participate in investigations and improvement work to ensure high reliability, safety, availability, and performance in the facility.
The role also includes being the unit's technical contact person for both large and small projects in the field. You contribute with high expertise and experience in instrumentation, control technology, and control systems and ensure that maintenance and operational experience is utilized in changes, modernizations, safety-enhancing measures, and life extension of the facility.
You will also have an important role in the team's competence development by serving as a mentor for newly hired and junior employees. Through guidance and knowledge transfer, you contribute to building and ensuring long-term competence within the operation.
Here you have the opportunity for varied work where you combine practical maintenance work with technical analyses, development issues, and collaboration with several different technical areas. Requirements Specification
We are looking for you with upper secondary or post-secondary education in instrument technology, automation, control technology, electrical engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent technical direction.
You have several years of experience with instrument maintenance in process industry, energy sector, or other mission-critical operations. We especially view positively experience with control and regulation systems, process instrumentation, safety systems, and troubleshooting and analysis in complex technical facilities.
It is advantageous if you have experience with:
- Instrumentation, regulation, and control systems for reactor and reactor-adjacent systems.
- Reactor protection systems and safety-classified I&C systems.
- Neutron flux measurement, reactor monitoring, and process measurements.
- PLC, DCS, or other advanced control and control systems.
- Testing and verification of safety and protection functions.
- Safety-classified instrumentation and requirements management within nuclear operations.
- Interfaces between different technical areas such as instrumentation, electrical, control equipment, process, mechanical, and safety systems.
- Project work, facility changes, modernizations, and technical investigations.
- Nuclear power or other safety-critical operations.
As a person, you are analytical, structured, and have a great interest in technical systems and their interaction. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, building networks, and being technical support for both colleagues and project organizations. You have the ability to see the whole picture in complex facilities while being able to delve into details when the situation requires it.
In this role, you have the opportunity to contribute to safe, stable, and efficient operation of the nuclear power plant's most safety-critical systems and play a central role in developing the future nuclear power facility.
