The Swedish Armed Forces Winter Unit (FMVE) is part of I 19 and has the primary task of developing and coordinating winter and subarctic capability within the entire Swedish Armed Forces. As an officer at the training division, your main task is to train our students at national and international courses. About Us FM Winter Unit contributes to enabling the Swedish Armed Forces operational units to operate in all climate zones, particularly in winter environments. The unit is located in Boden and is organized under Norrbotten Regiment I 19. The training division conducts courses throughout the year. Main Job Responsibilities Firstly, your work involves acting as course director/instructor at the unit's national and international courses, which means you will teach in both Swedish and English. You will participate in defense-wide projects, be an instructor in training activities, and provide expert support for your own and allied units. Furthermore, you will lead/participate in projects in the subarctic climate, participate in the Swedish Armed Forces security inspections regarding cold weather, and perform other relevant work tasks. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Professional officer, OR6/7 with at least 5 years of professional experience. Strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English Driver's license at least category B Personal Qualities You are an individual with high integrity, good social competence, and you welcome diversity. You have a high sense of responsibility, which means you have the ability to work independently, but have no problem collaborating with others both within and outside the section. You must be able to implement and evaluate the results of completed work and assignments within the operation. You have high security awareness in your work, handle your tasks with good overall perspective, and make decisions in line with your superior's intent. You are thorough and have a structured way of working and the ability to change pace when required. You have a positive attitude toward physical training as this is part of the work tasks in the Swedish Armed Forces. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS Military driver's license/certificate for tracked vehicle, snow vehicle, heavy truck with trailer, and wheel loader Very strong ability to lead troop training up to platoon level Good personal skills (weapons, physical performance capability, FUSA/SUSA (unit training/combat training with live ammunition)). Mountain and/or medical training instructor. Experience in working on and independently driving projects Previous service at schools/centers within the Swedish Armed Forces Language skills beyond English and Swedish Good experience working in a subarctic climate Good administrative ability in the Swedish Armed Forces support systems Other Information Employment Form: The position is a permanent employment; we apply a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the agency. I 19 is one of Sweden's largest regiments. The regiment's main office and leadership are located in Boden. The regiment's most important task is to build combat units, and in the coming years I 19 will gradually develop the new Norrbotten Brigade. By 2028, the regiment should be able to train, stock, and mobilize the entire brigade including associated functional units. The brigade should be able to conduct operations in all environments but will be specialized for operations in the subarctic environment of the Nordkalotten region. Conscript training is conducted at the Norrbotten Armored Battalion, which is responsible for training and maintaining units for the Norrbotten Brigade. The regiment also consists of regiment headquarters, Defense Health, the Garrison Support Unit, the Logistics Unit, and the Local Planning Unit.
