Introduction:
Core Facilities, Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, is seeking an Institutional Technician/Animal Care Technician for the Department of Experimental Biomedicine (EBM). Temporary position, 11 months.
Core Facilities is an open university-wide research infrastructure for life science research. We are located at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and offer access to some of Sweden's most advanced techniques and analytical tools for research in, for example, medicine, biomedicine, and clinical studies.
Experimental Biomedicine (EBM) is a multifunctional research facility within Core Facilities that provides infrastructure, expert knowledge, and training for research involving animal experiments. EBM is also a national competency center and hosts an MRI imaging facility. Animal welfare as well as the 3R principles (Replace, Refine, and Reduce) are integrated into all aspects of EBM's operations and policy.

We are now seeking an institutional technician/animal care technician for EBM who, with a focus on quality awareness, wants to work with us and drive the development of research support forward!
Job Responsibilities
Animal care, supervision, material handling, documentation, and maintenance of registers and procedures.
Qualifications
You are at least 18 years old and have relevant education and preferably experience in animal care.
We are looking for you with a positive attitude who likes to take responsibility, whether it's about respecting schedules, maintaining good quality, or reaching set goals.
Since work as an animal technician involves repeated lifting, it is important to us that you work in an ergonomically correct manner and appreciate keeping your body active.
As a person, it is important that you are flexible and have good collaboration with your coworkers and contribute to a good atmosphere in the group. At the same time, you need to be comfortable working independently in animal facilities.
You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English, as both languages are spoken among colleagues and researchers.
Desirable and meritorious are passed training in laboratory animal science (LAS course) or a passed upper secondary school course Animals for Research Purposes (DJFDJU0), as well as experience and ability to independently take responsibility for and perform tasks related to animal facility work and material handling.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Employment
The position is a full-time temporary contract, 100%, located at EBM within Core Facilities, University of Gothenburg. Start date by agreement.
