State Police Riga Regional Administration Northern Pierīga District Investigation Department Inspector (Investigation) Profession code – 335513 Main job duties: Initiate criminal proceedings and conduct investigations in accordance with regulatory acts to detect criminal offenses committed in the District's service territory; Conduct pre-trial investigation, make decisions on the conduct and direction of investigation; Develop pre-trial investigation plans for criminal proceedings under case management and supplement them during the investigation; Examine complaints, applications and submissions within the scope of competence, make decisions in the manner and timeframe established by regulatory acts; Maintain records of criminal proceedings under case management, carefully and qualitatively prepare criminal procedural documents in accordance with case management and Criminal Procedure Law requirements, record material evidence, seized property and confiscated items, handle them in accordance with regulatory requirements, timely transfer them for storage. Requirements for candidates: Compliance with the requirements set forth in Articles 4 and 7 of the Service Career Law for officials with special service ranks in institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Prison Administration; First-level professional higher education (educational thematic fields: law, civil and military protection, business and administration, social and human sciences, computer science); Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel); State language proficiency level – Level C 1st stage; Category B driver's license. Candidates who have not previously served in institutions of the Ministry of Interior or the Prison Administration must complete a 3-month professional development education program "Fundamentals of Police Work for State Police Officials" at the State Police College.
