State Police Riga Region Administration South Pierīga District Investigation Department Inspector (investigation) Profession Code – 335513 Main Duties: Initiate criminal proceedings and conduct investigations in accordance with regulatory acts to detect criminal offenses committed in the District's service area; Conduct pre-trial investigation, make decisions on the conduct and direction of investigation; Draft pre-trial investigation plans in pending criminal proceedings, supplement them during the investigation; Within the scope of competence, review complaints, applications and submissions, make decisions in the manner and timeframe prescribed by regulatory acts; Maintain records of pending criminal proceedings, carefully and qualitatively, in accordance with record-keeping and Criminal Procedure Law requirements, prepare criminal procedural documents, record physical evidence, seized property and confiscated items, handle them in accordance with regulatory requirements, timely transfer them to storage. Requirements for Candidates: Compliance with the requirements set out in Articles 4 and 7 of the Service Regulations for Officials with Special Service Ranks of Institutions of the Ministry of Interior System and the Prison Administration; First-level professional higher education (education thematic fields: legal science, civil and military protection, business and administration, social and human sciences, computer science); Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel); State language proficiency level – C level 1st degree; Category B driving license. For candidates who have not previously served in institutions of the Ministry of Interior System or the Prison Administration, it will be necessary to complete the State Police College's 3-month professional development education program "Basics of Police Work for State Police Officials".
