The goal of aviation security is to protect passengers, staff, the public, and property from unlawful acts. Unlawful acts include criminal attacks such as sabotage, hijackings, and hostage-takings. The Aviation Security Section's areas of responsibility include regulatory development, licensing, record-keeping, and oversight work within aviation security. The section also handles facilitation—various flows in aviation, such as border control and rights for persons with disabilities in connection with air travel. Read more about working at Transportstyrelsen You will • Conduct oversight of security-approved operations through inspections, audits, and tests at airports and similar facilities. This includes document reviews, visits to operations, and evaluation of responses following inspections • Interpret and apply legislation • Plan and conduct internal and external training and information activities • Participate in the review of internal and external investigations, referrals, and supporting documentation related to aviation security • Review incoming applications and supporting materials against applicable regulations to issue security approvals within aviation security • Communicate with both industry license holders and the public on aviation security matters Business travel, primarily within Sweden, is a natural part of the work. Irregular working hours may occur. You must have • Relevant academic education of at least 180 credits (120 points) or alternative educational background combined with experience that we collectively assess as comparable • Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English, which also includes strong ability to prepare various reports and policy documents • Work experience from civil aviation, such as airlines and airports • A valid driver's license (Category B) It is meritorious if you also have • Experience interpreting and applying legislation • Experience in operational security work • Experience working as an inspector, including audit work • Experience with risk analyses • Professional experience from technically complex operations We want you to • Be self-driven—you take responsibility for your tasks. We normally apply a probationary period. Employment with us may involve placement in a security clearance class. A security vetting with background check under the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted.
