Collections Handler Umeå

We are looking for a collections handler for a consulting assignment with our client in Umeå. About the Assignment Assignment Period: 2026-09-14 to 2027-09-13 Scope: Part-time, approximately 6 days/month plus a few weeks during summer Location: Umeå Employment Type: Consulting assignment via Jefferson Wells Job Responsibilities The collections department's role is to manage the entire debt collection process, handle customer contacts, ensure that bankruptcies and defaults are handled in the best way possible, and where applicable represent SFS in court. The position involves daily contact with customers. The team currently consists of four people working with Swedish collection cases. Main Responsibilities: Contact our customers with overdue invoices via phone, letter, or email Establish payment plans when needed Respond to incoming customer inquiries via phone and through our case management system You will work in a Nordic organization, which involves some collaboration with colleagues in Norway and Finland as well as with different local departments in Sweden and cross-functionally with departments such as Risk, Operations, and Sales. Requirements We are looking for someone who is studying law or economics and can work approximately 6 days/month plus a few weeks during summer. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working with customer accounts receivable and experience with customer or supplier contact within leasing/finance or collections operations. We value that you have good negotiation skills, are a good listener, and can express yourself well both verbally and in writing. You have good ability to prioritize and are appreciated for your proactive and positive work approach. You are an engaged person who does not hesitate to take on new tasks.
