More about Streets and Parks and the role of Lighting Engineer in Street Operations Streets and Parks has 108 employees, and the planning function is located at City Hall in central Umeå. The Street Operations division consists of just over 45 people and we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, squares, and cycle paths on public land. As a Lighting Engineer in Street Operations, you will have an important role in developing and managing Umeå by ensuring a safe, functional, and sustainable lighting infrastructure. You will work on developing and maintaining the municipality's existing lighting network and actively contribute to the city's long-term development. In this role, you are responsible for planning and project management of reinvestment measures within the lighting network in Umeå Municipality, in close collaboration with the Street Operations Operations Engineer for Lighting. You are also responsible for procurement and implementation of larger reinvestment projects. You represent Street Operations on lighting matters within Streets and Parks' street and park projects, where you serve as technical support to project managers and monitor operational and maintenance issues related to electricity and lighting. The work includes reviewing documents such as drawings and technical descriptions as well as participation in design and construction meetings and inspections. The assignment also includes following developments in the technology field, contributing to updates of Streets and Parks' technical handbook, and preparing decision support materials for political decisions. The position is broad and involves you having a coordinating role with many contacts both internally and externally. Standby work may occur. Requirements Higher education in electrical engineering or gymnasium engineer with the aforementioned focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way Several years of experience from work with similar tasks Knowledge of applicable legislation Experience reviewing and understanding light calculations from DIALux or equivalent Unobstructed knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing as well as good knowledge of English Class B driver's license Meritorious Experience from planning of public lighting As a person, you are responsive to development and change, social and service-oriented in interactions with others, and comfortable making quick decisions.
