Job Description Would you like to be part of identifying and eliminating risks in advanced technical systems – before they even occur? We are continuing to establish Sigma Technology Engineering in Östergötland. We are building a business area focused on qualified roles in engineering, systems, and lifecycle management – and we are now looking for you who want to work as a specialist in functional and system safety in our customer assignments. About the Role In this role, you work to ensure that technical systems meet requirements for safe operation, risk reduction, and reliability throughout the development and lifecycle. You are an important part of the work to identify risks, analyze behavior, and ensure that systems function safely – both in normal operation and during deviations. Your tasks may include: - Conducting analyses in functional and system safety (e.g., FHA, FMEA, FTA) - Identifying and assessing risks related to technical systems - Developing and following up on safety requirements in development projects - Working with safety processes according to relevant standards - Supporting development teams on matters related to safe design and function - Participating in verification and validation of safety solutions - Structuring and documenting safety work throughout the system's lifecycle You work closely with other disciplines such as systems, software, and hardware development, as well as testing and verification. Basic Qualifications We are looking for you with experience in system safety or related areas within technical development. You have an analytical mindset and understand how technical systems behave – even in complex and critical situations. We see that you have: - A higher engineering education in a relevant area such as systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar. Alternatively, acquired equivalent competence through work experience. - Previous experience working in functional or system safety - Knowledge of analyses such as FMEA, FTA, FHA, or similar - Experience from technology-intensive industries (e.g., defense, automotive, industrial, or energy) - Ability to work systematically with requirements, risk, and analysis - Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written We work closely with our customers and a category B driver's license is a requirement. As we often work in the defense industry or other essential services, the positions are usually classified and may involve requirements for certain citizenship. Equivalent experience in safety, preparedness, or similar areas is also seen as a plus.
