The Information Technology Department of Jelgava Municipality Central Administration announces a competition for the position of Education Information Technology Specialist
Main job duties:
1. coordinate the implementation and development of digital technologies in educational institutions;
2. advise educational institution management and staff on the use of digital solutions;
3. maintain and administer designated information systems and digital platforms;
4. manage user accounts and access rights;
5. organize inventory, maintenance, and first-level technical support for computer equipment and digital devices;
6. prepare technical specifications and participate in IT procurement processes;
7. develop user instructions and informational materials;
8. participate in the implementation of digitalization projects and monitor compliance with information security requirements within the scope of competence.
Requirements for candidates:
1. secondary professional or higher education in information technology, computer science, educational technology, or a related field;
2. desired experience in IT support, system maintenance, or digital solutions implementation;
3. knowledge of information systems, user account and access rights management;
4. understanding of computer equipment, software, and digital platform use and maintenance;
5. knowledge of information security, data protection, and cybersecurity basic principles;
6. ability to prepare instructions, technical specifications, and other documents;
7. ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and resolve problem situations;
8. good communication skills, collaboration skills, command of the state language, and digital literacy;
9. Category B driver's license.
