Our intensive care unit has two high-tech intensive care beds and four intermediate care beds. We care for patients from medicine, surgery and orthopedic clinics. During on-call hours, we receive postoperative patients and we also perform short ICU visits such as electrical cardioversions, central line insertions and lumbar punctures. The position has a basic placement on the care ward with a time-limited placement at the intensive care unit (ICU) for a maximum of two years. The purpose is to give you in-depth insight into work as an ICU nurse and create good conditions for you to pursue further training as an ICU nurse after your IMA/ICU placement is completed. Your Work Tasks With us, you care for patients with vital function failure who need close monitoring and advanced care measures. The work involves close collaboration with ICU nurses where you participate in caring for patients with threatening or manifest vital function failure, for example in severe illnesses, accidents or in the postoperative phase. You are responsible for continuously monitoring the patient's vital parameters and acting when changes occur in the patient's condition. The work is carried out in a team together with nursing assistants and anesthesiologists. The position is varied and developmental, with good learning opportunities in daily work. Time is allocated in the schedule for development work, teaching and in-house lectures, including through regular department meetings. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts, Monday to Friday, full-time. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with at least one year of experience. For us, it is important that you are confident, stable and like to take initiative. We value your ability to collaborate and communicate highly. When changes occur during your work shift, we support each other in the team and it helps if you are flexible in your working style. Your good judgment is valuable for making your own assessments and prioritizations, sometimes with limited information and time. It is also important that you understand your important role as a nurse and can consider the patient's and the operation's best interest in actions and decisions.
