Norrbotten Regiment, I 19, is one of Sweden's largest regiments. I 19 is tasked with producing combat units for Norrbotten Brigade, NmekB 19. At I 19, Norrbotten Armored Battalion is responsible for training and producing two armored battalions and one mechanized battalion within NmekB 19. The units are specialized in assault operations in subarctic environments and use, among other things, Combat Vehicle 90 and Battle Tank 122. FLF FIN (Forward Land Forces Finland) NmekB 19 and 191st Armored Battalion will, from 2026, have a primary focus on operating as a force within the multinational force for FLF Finland. As an employee of NmekB 19 and 191st Armored Battalion, you can be part of a historic mission for the garrison, Norrbotten Brigade, the Swedish Armed Forces, and Sweden within the framework of NATO. The current planning direction is that the main part of the force contribution will be stationed in Boden and conduct operations and readiness within the framework of NmekB 19 and FLF FIN in both Sweden and Finland. Duties A nurse at a medical support group with specialist training focused on ambulance/anesthesia care has primary duties to receive, evacuate, and care for the injured, ill, and exhausted in prehospital, field-adjacent environments. Common duties include: Being medically responsible at the scene and during transport (when a doctor is not present). Being responsible for the medical support group's medications and medical equipment, maintaining the equipment, and ensuring medical supplies are always available. Being able to perform daily medical care at level 1 in the tiered care system. Preparing patients for handover to another unit. In addition, the specialist nurse performs patient administrative work, both independently and in collaboration with others. The work consists of resource planning, patient documentation, use of reporting systems, and triage (sorting and prioritizing) of patients. Daily work includes exercises to prepare for acute care situations. The professional role includes combat training so the specialist nurse can protect and defend the group and patients. As a specialist nurse, you should be able to undergo further training to develop your military medical knowledge. All work is conducted in accordance with the Health and Medical Care Act. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS Licensed nurse with specialist degree in ambulance care or anesthesia care. Clinical experience must correspond to approximately two years of professional practice. Prehospital experience. Military training equivalent to completed Basic Soldier Training (GSU). Class B driver's license. Approved medical and physical tests according to the Swedish Armed Forces' requirements profile. Personal Qualities You should be able to work well in a team but also independently and under difficult physical and psychological conditions. You are a good problem solver with strong analytical skills. You should also be prepared for further education, both theoretical and practical. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. MERITORIOUS Military basic training equivalent to military service Previous work within the Swedish Armed Forces Completed MTRB, MTRA, Prehospital Hypothermia, Bloodletting, and Acute Transfusion Military Forklift Certification LPTG, Heavy Truck Experience in prehospital work and/or disaster medical work Compensation for Participation in FLF FIN for I 19 Compensation according to Swedish Armed Forces collective agreement based on working hours and official travel. This may change if a new agreement regarding foreign service is concluded between the parties. The battalion task group is on continuous operational readiness 1-3 days during the readiness period. For operational readiness, you are compensated according to the collective agreement, currently 5,500 kr/month. The parts of the unit on standby under NATO command also receive an additional time-limited salary supplement of 5,500 kr/month during the standby period. Total monthly compensation for those on standby under NATO command is thus 11,000 kr in addition, beyond base salary. You are expected to complete approximately 35-40 Swedish Armed Forces days per six-month period, of which the majority will be conducted in Finland. Other Information Employment Type: There is the possibility of a permanent position, but also a limited-term position only during the readiness period. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the agency. During the later phase of FLF, there are opportunities to do other work while on standby.
