Norrbotten Regiment, I 19, is one of Sweden's largest regiments. I 19's mission is to produce combat units for Norrbotten Brigade, NmekB 19. The units specialize in assault operations in subarctic environments and use equipment including Combat Vehicle 90 and Main Battle Tank 122. FLF FIN (Forward Land Forces Finland) Starting in 2026, NmekB 19 will primarily be deployed to serve with a force contingent within the multinational force for FLF Finland. As an employee of NmekB 19 and 191. Pbat, you can be part of a historic mission for the garrison, Norrbotten Brigade, the Swedish Armed Forces, and Sweden within the NATO framework. Current planning indicates that the main portion of the force contribution will be stationed in Boden and conduct operations and readiness activities within NmekB 19 and FLF FIN in both Sweden and Finland. Duties As a specialist nurse with a focus on District or Emergency Care, you will independently assess and care for patients in environments where resources and accessibility may be limited. The position also involves performing advanced resuscitation measures and damage control interventions under demanding conditions with the aim of saving lives and stabilizing and caring for patients. Typical duties include: Perform resuscitation according to the ABCDE protocol. Treat illness at level 1 in tiered patient care. Triage and prioritize among sick and injured patients. Manage the medical post's medications and medical equipment, maintain equipment, and ensure medical supplies are available. Prepare patients for transport and handover to another unit. Beyond this, you will perform patient administrative work such as resource planning, patient documentation, reporting, and triaging. Daily work includes training to maintain the ability to provide acute medical care as well as routine healthcare. The position also includes military skills training to operate safely and contribute to the protection of personnel and patients. All activities are conducted in accordance with healthcare legislation. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS Licensed nurse with a specialist degree in district or emergency care. (Nursing program 180 credits + further education 60-75 credits) Clinical experience with at least two years of professional practice. Military training, at minimum completed Basic Soldier Training (GSU). Class B driver's license. Approved medical and physical tests according to the Swedish Armed Forces requirements profile. Personal Qualities We are looking for someone with good work capacity who works well in a group but also independently and under difficult physical and psychological conditions. You are a good problem solver with strong analytical skills. You should also be prepared for further education, both theoretical and practical. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. MERITORIOUS Completed military basic training/military service Previous work with the Swedish Armed Forces Completed MTRB, MTRA, Prehospital Hypothermia, Phlebotomy, and Acute Transfusion Military driver's license for light armored personnel carrier, heavy truck Experience with prehospital work or disaster medicine work Compensation for Participation in FLF FIN for I 19 Compensation according to Swedish Armed Forces collective agreement based on working hours and official travel. This may change if a new agreement regarding foreign service is concluded between the parties. The Battalion Task Group is in continuous readiness 1–3 days during the readiness period. For readiness duty, you are compensated according to the collective agreement, currently 5,500 kronor per month. Those parts of the unit placed on standby under NATO command also receive an additional time-limited salary supplement of 5,500 kr/month during the readiness period. Total monthly compensation for those placed on standby under NATO command thus amounts to 11,000 kr in addition to base salary. You are expected to complete approximately 35–40 service days per six-month period, primarily conducted in Finland. Other Information Employment Form: Opportunities exist for both permanent employment and fixed-term employment only during the readiness period. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency. The regiment's primary mission is to build combat units, and over the coming years, I 19 will progressively develop the new Norrbotten Brigade. By 2028, the regiment will be capable of training, equipping, and mobilizing the entire brigade including associated functional units: command, field engineering, air defense, and logistics. The brigade will be capable of conducting operations in all environments but will specialize in operations in the subarctic environment of the Nordkalotten region. Employment with us involves placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is typically required. Security vetting with criminal record check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation to be war-positioned.
