Right now, the Swedish Armed Forces is growing, developing, and expanding. Norrbotten Regiment, I 19, is one of Sweden's largest regiments. I 19's mission is to produce combat units for the Norrbotten Brigade, NmekB 19. I 19 is the lock in the North. The units are specialized in assault operations in subarctic environments and use, among other things, Infantry Fighting Vehicle 90 and Main Battle Tank 122. FLF FIN (Forward Land Forces Finland) NmekB 19 and 191. Pbat will primarily be tasked to operate and serve as a force within the multinational force for FLF Finland. As an employee of NmekB 19 and 191. Pbat, you can be part of a historic mission for the garrison, Norrbotten Brigade, the Swedish Armed Forces, and Sweden within the framework of NATO. Current planning is that the main part of the force contribution will be stationed in Boden and conduct operations within the framework of NmekB 19 and FLF FIN in both Sweden and Finland. The activities will include exercises, training, education, and readiness in both Sweden and Finland. Duties A physician with specialization in emergency medicine or general medicine shall, based on the patient's individual needs and medical condition, independently and with limited resources treat the sick. The position also involves performing resuscitation and damage-limiting measures, sometimes under stressful working conditions, in order to save lives or attend to the injured. Common duties include: Perform resuscitation according to <C>ABCDE. Treat illness at level 2 in the tiered care system. Triage and prioritize among sick and injured. Prepare patient for transport and handover to another unit. Additionally, you will perform patient administrative work, both independently and in collaboration with others. The work consists of resource planning, patient documentation, use of reporting systems, and patient triage. The daily work includes exercises to prepare for acute care situations. The professional role includes combat training so you can protect and defend your own group and patients. As a specialist physician, you will have the opportunity for continuous professional development in military medicine and prehospital care. All work is conducted in accordance with the Health and Medical Care Act. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS Licensed physician with at least three years of completed specialist training (ST) in emergency medicine or general medicine Military training equivalent to completed Basic Soldier Training (GSU). Military medical internal training. Category B driver's license. Approved medical and physical tests according to the Swedish Armed Forces' requirement profile. Personal Qualities You should be able to work well in a group but also independently and under difficult physical and psychological conditions. You are a good problem solver with strong analytical abilities. You should also be prepared for continued training, both theoretical and practical. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. MERITORIOUS Military basic training equivalent to military service Previous work within the Swedish Armed Forces Completed MTRB, MTRA, Prehospital hypothermia, blood collection, and acute transfusion Military driver's license LPTG, heavy truck Experience with prehospital work and/or disaster medicine work Compensation for Participation in FLF FIN for I 19 Compensation according to Swedish Armed Forces collective agreement based on working time and mobility (official travel). This may change if a new agreement regarding foreign service is concluded between the parties. The battalion combat group is in continuous operational readiness 1–3 days during the readiness period. For operational readiness, you will be compensated according to the collective agreement, currently 5,500 kronor per month. Those parts of the unit placed on standby under NATO command also receive an additional time-limited salary increase of 5,500 kr/month during the standby period. Total monthly compensation for those placed on standby under NATO command thus amounts to 11,000 kr in addition to base salary. You are expected to complete approximately 35–40 Swedish Armed Forces duty days per six-month period, of which the majority will be conducted in Finland. Other Information Type of Employment: There is an opportunity for permanent employment, but also fixed-term employment only during the readiness period. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.
