Regional Laboratory Medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Area 4, and has a clear coordinating mandate for the entire Västra Götaland region. The organization comprises laboratory medicine operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Hospitals in the West, and NU Healthcare. About Us The Healthcare Hygiene Unit is part of Clinical Microbiology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and functions as a knowledge center in healthcare hygiene. Our primary mission is to prevent healthcare-associated infections and prevent disease transmission within healthcare and care services. The unit is staffed by infection control physicians, infection control nurses, and an administrator, and the work includes close collaboration with Public Health Authority Västra Götaland, the Infectious Diseases Clinic, Strama, and patient safety officers within hospitals, primary care, and municipal care services. The work involves both consultation on acute healthcare hygiene issues and long-term strategic work directed toward decision-makers. We have a significant teaching mission directed at both students at the University of Gothenburg and staff and managers within healthcare and care services. The unit maintains ongoing research collaborations and participates in regional and national working groups. About the Job With us, you will work on both acute problem-solving and providing consultation to healthcare staff and managers. You will also work strategically on issues related to healthcare-associated infections, multidrug-resistant bacteria, and disease transmission within healthcare. Additionally, you will spend considerable time on teaching. Are you interested in preventing healthcare-associated infections and working to prevent disease transmission? About You We are seeking a licensed nurse with several years of experience and good knowledge of Swedish. A specialist nurse qualification is a merit.
