About the role As an HSE engineer, you will have a central role in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures. You will work to minimize risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a safety culture where employee health and safety are always in focus. Your main responsibilities: Develop and implement safety policies: Ensure that our procedures comply with applicable laws and industry standards. Risk assessments and inspections: Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify and manage potential hazards. Training and awareness: Plan and conduct training in health and safety for employees. Incident reporting and investigations: Manage the reporting, investigation, and analysis of accidents and incidents to prevent future events. Safety equipment: Monitor and verify that protective equipment and emergency systems are in good condition and used correctly. Compliance with laws and regulations: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure the company remains compliant. Crisis management and preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and lead efforts during crises. Qualifications: Relevant education in occupational health, safety, or risk management. Experience working in a similar role, preferably in construction. Experience developing and implementing health and safety policies. Good knowledge of occupational health legislation and safety standards. Experience with risk assessments, safety investigations, and reporting tools. Personal qualities: You are thorough and have a strong attention to detail. You have excellent communication skills and can educate and engage staff at all levels. You are self-directed and have strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a changing environment.
