We are looking for someone who wants to work broadly within occupational health, safety, and quality – in both line operations and projects. As part of AFRY's Industrial Division, you will become a key player in the Nordic region's largest Safety organization – a combined force of over 150 experts in occupational health and safety, machine safety, process safety, fire protection, and civil protection and preparedness spread across approximately 30 offices in Sweden. With us, you work at the forefront alongside the EU Commission, standardization bodies, and national authorities to influence and develop future safety requirements. As an HSE/Occupational Health and Safety Consultant, you work in an advisory role where you support operations and projects with both operational and strategic matters. Assignments can vary from longer engagements with a customer to shorter interventions in various project environments. You work closely with managers, project leaders, and employees, contributing to the development of safe, efficient, and sustainable work practices. The role offers great variety and the opportunity to work across multiple industries. You are part of our national specialist team, where you can work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. Your responsibilities may include: Support and develop systematic occupational health and safety management (SAM) Identify risks, conduct risk assessments, and drive improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and standards Develop and implement management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) Conduct internal audits, gap analyses, and audits Handle incidents, near-misses, and investigations Plan and conduct training in occupational health and safety Report and monitor KPIs and regulatory requirements Act in roles as HSE advisor, occupational health and safety coordinator, or safety manager in projects Work location is flexible. We have the opportunity to employ in several locations in central Sweden, such as Stockholm, Uppsala, Gävle, Västerås, Karlstad, Falun, or Borlänge. The role may involve travel within and outside Sweden. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has relevant education in occupational health and safety, HSE, engineering, or equivalent Has several years of experience working in HSE/occupational health and safety, preferably in both project and production environments, which is why you may have worked in construction/civil engineering and/or manufacturing industry Has good knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, risk management, and systematic occupational health and safety work Has experience with, or knowledge of, BAS-P/BAS-U Holds a valid Class B driver's license Speaks Swedish and English fluently, both written and spoken If you also have experience with quality and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001), as well as experience in developing safety culture, leading training, or driving improvement initiatives, we consider this advantageous for this role.
