The Swedish Armed Forces Academy is an internationally leading educational institution within defense, crisis management, and security. We offer a unique academic environment where civilian and military perspectives meet. We educate civilian and military leaders, experts, and researchers who analyze and manage today's and tomorrow's crisis situations and security challenges. The Swedish Armed Forces Academy educates Sweden's officers and leads the academic development of the officer profession. We conduct research in law with a focus on operational law and international humanitarian law, defense systems, military science, leadership and management, military history, and political science. The Swedish Armed Forces Academy has a central HR department that maintains continuous contact with the institution's leadership and other units. The department works both strategically and operatively within areas such as HR, payroll, travel, and health/wellness, and currently has twelve employees. The work style is characterized by community, openness, professionalism, and collaborative coaching. The department includes four HR partners, two payroll specialists, one HR controller, one military staffing coordinator, two health educators, and one HR director. The HR department is a well-integrated team where we support each other with the Academy's best interests in focus. Responsibilities The HR Strategist position is new and located within the HR department at the Administrative Support unit in Stockholm. As an HR Strategist, your primary responsibilities will be to lead and/or participate in overarching Academy-wide projects, HR projects, investigations, and various development initiatives from initial phase through delivery with subsequent follow-up. Sometimes you will serve as project manager, but you may also take on the role of HR expert and participant. The work includes collaboration and negotiations with our labor unions as well as internal communication with managers and employees. You will contribute ideas and deliverables in the areas of AI and how its development supports the organization. You will also independently conduct labor law negotiations to ensure that the Academy has updated collective agreements in place. You will be responsible for procurements and serve as the election official regarding selections to the Research and Development Committee, among other things. Other tasks may occur. Who are we looking for? Requirements: Academic degree in HR or other educational experience deemed equivalent by the employer. Substantial experience as an HR partner or similar role. Experience of independently conducting successful labor union negotiations. Experience leading HR projects, investigations, and development at a strategic level. Extended experience in the public sector. Experience and knowledge of HR in an academic environment. Meritorious qualifications: Experience with AI in combination with HR. Experience from the defense sector. As a person, you have a strategic perspective and an understanding of how employer policy and operations are interconnected. You are reliable, analytical, and inclusive in your approach. You have excellent prioritization skills and understand when good enough is sufficient and when higher ambition is necessary, as well as when you need to involve others for the best results. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple development processes simultaneously. About the position The position is a permanent full-time role beginning with a six-month probationary period. The position may also involve war placement. If you are already war-placed in your current position at an agency and your expertise is needed in the Academy's war organization, negotiations will take place between the relevant agency and the Academy regarding your placement location.
