Approximately 300 employees collectively cover several research fields, from the molecular processes that determine plant appearance to bird migration, and from how dung beetles navigate to how animals adapt to an ever-changing world. The department's activities are research-intensive with a number of large projects funded by external international and national funding bodies. As an HR Administrator at the Department of Biology, you will be part of a team of three people who serve and support operations. The HR team is in turn part of the department's shared support function, which also includes finance, administration, IT, facilities, communication, and academic advising. Every day, you and your colleagues will meet researchers and teachers who are passionate about their work in an international and diverse environment characterized by joy of work, curiosity, and collegiality. Work Duties As an HR Administrator at the Department of Biology, you will work independently with varied HR matters. Your role includes serving as support to the department head, administrative manager, and section heads, among others, as well as communicating HR information throughout the organization. Provide advice on HR matters to both management and employees. Manage hiring within the departments included in your role, which includes handling new hires, monitoring and managing fixed-term contracts, extensions, and managing payroll information. Assist with onboarding new staff and provide support to international new hires and guests upon arrival. Administration of LUCAT – Lund University's personnel catalog. Other common administrative tasks, such as scholarship management, record-keeping, and archiving. The work involves close collaboration with other HR administrators as well as researchers and teachers. You will also cooperate with colleagues at other organizational levels within the university. Work duties may change and develop over time in accordance with operational needs. Qualifications Requirements for employment: University degree in HR or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent Knowledge of laws and regulations within the HR field generally Good skills in the Office package Good ability to use Swedish and English in speech and writing Merits for employment: Experience in HR work from a public authority, particularly from a university or college Experience in international recruitment We are looking for someone who is flexible, service-oriented, and thorough. Engagement, sense of responsibility, and independence will also be required to manage HR work within the department. You must be able to work independently, but you are also part of a team where everyone contributes. We therefore expect you to have good collaboration skills and enjoy working with others. The ability to plan your work, sometimes with strict deadlines, is an important quality. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
