About the Position
The training position normally spans four years and begins with one year of service as an appellate court prosecutor. As an appellate court prosecutor, you will present cases and prepare proposed judgments and decisions, as well as keep records during main hearings.
After that, you will serve as a district court prosecutor for two years at one of the district courts within the Court's jurisdiction. As a district court prosecutor, you will handle and decide cases and matters both independently and together with other judges at the district court. During this service, you will typically also supervise notaries.
After the district court service, you will return to the appellate court for one year of adjunct service. You will then serve as a member and participate in collegial decisions.
Throughout the entire training position, you will receive guidance from experienced, regular judges and participate in a theoretical training program provided by the Court Academy. In addition, we offer a number of internal training sessions and study visits.
After completing and passing the adjunct year, you will be appointed as an appellate court assessor, and the special judge training program will be completed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has completed notary training according to the Notary Ordinance (1990:469) with excellent grades and has Swedish citizenship and meets the other requirements set out in Chapter 4, Section 1 of the Code of Judicial Procedure.
Excellent legal knowledge and analytical ability combined with a very good ability to prioritize are required. You express yourself clearly, concisely, and correctly both verbally and in writing.
We are looking for someone with great maturity, integrity, and excellent judgment. As a person, you are receptive to others' opinions, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy collaborating with others.
To be considered for employment, you must also meet high standards regarding security awareness and suitability. This means that you stand up for democratic values and the state principles that guide the activities of Sweden's Courts.
Application
The Court of Appeal hires appellate court prosecutors four times per year. The Court typically hires approximately 20 appellate court prosecutors each year.
Application deadlines for each period:

- April 30
- August 31
- October 31
Applications are submitted through the recruitment tool Visma Recruit. Attach your CV, personal letter, and a copy of your degree certificate from the law program, including grades. Also attach your notary certificate, or alternatively state the date when you expect to complete your notary qualification.
When you apply for employment as a prosecutor, your application will be stored in our candidate bank where it remains active for six months. During this time, you have the opportunity to supplement your application with additional grades or references. You also have the option to extend your application for an additional six months if you request it. If you are no longer interested in employment as a prosecutor, the Court appreciates being notified of this.
Selection Process
After the application deadline has passed, all applicants will be asked to complete work psychological tests. If you have completed the Court's tests within the last two years, you can choose whether you want to take the tests again or whether you want to reuse your previous results. You will receive a link to the tests where you can choose to complete them again or reuse your previous results.
Once the test period has ended, the Court will review the applicants' application materials, test results, and obtain references. The number of candidates invited for interviews is determined by the Court's admissions committee based on the applicant's qualifications and the Court's and district courts' need for prosecutors.

This recruitment concerns one or more positions. Appellate court prosecutors are employed on probation under the Employment Protection Act (1982:80) with a probationary period of six months.
In accordance with the Court's employment procedures and suitability requirements, the Court will obtain information from the criminal record register in the event of employment.
