Circus instruction currently takes place at Activity House Tryckeriet in Helsingborg. Job Duties In your role as a circus instructor at Helsingborg Cultural School, you will teach circus to children and young people ages 6–19. You will teach together with a colleague. Instruction takes place on Tuesdays at Activity House Tryckeriet. The position also includes some administrative work and contact with guardians. At Helsingborg Cultural School, we operate with vacation service, which means the program offers holiday activities and trial days. Most of our activities take place in the afternoons and evenings, and occasional weekend work may occur. Qualifications You are trained as a circus instructor or have equivalent education. You also have experience teaching children and young people in groups, both beginners and advanced students. You have experience with various circus disciplines such as floor and partner acrobatics, juggling, balance, aerial acrobatics, clown, and physical theater. Your safety competence includes conducting risk assessments of exercises, adapting exercises to students' age and level, understanding injury prevention training, having knowledge of warm-up and physical exertion, knowing your own competence limits, understanding when a discipline requires additional specialist expertise, and being able to handle safety equipment correctly. We seek someone with a creative and curious approach to circus and pedagogy. You listen to students' needs and wishes and incorporate these into your teaching. You allow all children to participate according to their abilities and develop their skills and self-confidence. You should also have a strong ability to enthuse and inspire, and be able to support students in their artistic development regardless of their level. As a colleague, you have good collaboration skills, take initiative, express yourself well in writing and speech, and have good digital competence. We place great importance on personal suitability.
