We're now hiring a Head of Quality & Compliance for our headquarters in Växjö. In this role, you'll have full responsibility for our product quality and regulatory compliance, including GPSR, EUDR, and ESPR. About the Role As Venture Design grows, we're looking for an operational Head of Quality & Compliance to own full responsibility for quality and regulatory compliance. The role involves owning, driving, and developing our existing quality & compliance function in close collaboration with both the procurement and sales departments. You enjoy using AI tools to work smarter and faster, and you'll report to the COO. Occasional travel is part of the position, primarily to Asia, where you'll work with our local suppliers to set and follow up on our shared agenda. Your Main Areas of Responsibility Ensure that Venture Design complies with applicable laws and regulations regarding labor law, imports, product legislation, and relevant EU directives and regulations (including GPSR, EUDR, and REACH). Manage and further develop Venture Design's FSC® certification, including audit requirements, certificates, and chain of custody. Continuously monitor changes in legislation that affect our operations and inform relevant departments. Work closely with the procurement department to ensure that suppliers, particularly in Asia, comply with labor law requirements, sustainability principles, and our Code of Conduct. Conduct and document supplier risk assessments, including reviews of social and environmental aspects. Support internal and external audits and act as a contact person with authorities and certification bodies. Work proactively on product quality by monitoring testing, complaints, and areas for improvement. Ensure clear procedures for product inspections, testing, and deviation reporting. Establish and maintain internal policies, guidelines, and procedures for the compliance area. Collaborate with procurement, product development, and other relevant departments to integrate compliance into daily operations. People management responsibility for 1–2 employees. You're used to working in a dynamic environment where you independently identify needs and implement solutions. Qualifications and Experience Experience in compliance or regulatory compliance, particularly with Asian imports and/or furniture, wood products, and consumer products. Strong knowledge of EU regulations related to product safety, trade, and sustainability. Experience with supplier audits and due diligence in international supply chains. Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Personal Qualities Structured and analytical – you have the ability to understand complex regulations and translate them into practical procedures. Communicative with a doer mentality. Initiative-taking and self-driven – you thrive at both building structures and managing them. Professional and collaboration-oriented – you collaborate seamlessly across different functions and levels in the organization.
