About the jobAs a case officer in one of the CSO units, you will be part of a dynamic team of colleagues managing support to civil society organizations. The focus of the role is to handle initiatives within the framework of Sweden's development cooperation strategy with civil society. You will, among other things, review and assess applications, prepare decision-making documents, conduct project follow-ups, and conduct dialogue with various actors in the aid sector. The activities include support via both Swedish and international civil society organizations as well as direct support to civil society in developing countries. Through your work, you contribute to promoting democracy, human rights, and human security, and to strengthening organizations' capacity and conditions.
The position is located in the Global Department, which brings together global strategy and initiative management and works based on Sida's various thematic areas.
You work at Sida's office in Rissne Sundbyberg.
Work tasks
Manage initiatives including assessment of applications, follow-up of results reporting and dialogue with collaboration partners.
Use and develop relevant methods and approaches to support civil society, including partners' capacity development, results-based management and aid effectiveness.
Contribute to contact with other units and departments, foreign service agencies and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as with collaboration and dialogue partners such as other authorities, civil society organizations and representatives of stakeholder groups such as business and the research community.
Support work with a range of tasks that occur in the unit and department.

Qualification requirements
Education
Academic degree in an area relevant to the activities
Languages
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
Work experience and knowledge
Documented experience of international development cooperation.
Documented experience of managing aid initiatives, including work with budgets and financial reporting.
Documented experience of working from or with civil society organizations

For this role it is advantageous if you have
Experience of working in developing countries
Experience of managing support to civil society in difficult contexts
Broad experience of working in government agencies, private or multilateral organizations.
Experience of innovative initiatives within development cooperation
Experience of working on issues concerning democracy, human freedoms and rights, the rule of law, equality, free market and property rights, accountability, tolerance, anti-corruption and/or peace and security.
Language skills in French, Spanish, Arabic or other languages relevant to Sida.
Good to know
The position (one or more) refers to a permanent employment with commencement in August 2026. A probation period will apply.
