Job Description Vaxholm Municipality is now recruiting a Housing Adaptation Case Officer. As a case officer with us, you will have a varied role where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for people with functional variations. The role involves qualified public administration where you process applications and make decisions regarding housing adaptation grants, repair grants, and restoration grants according to the Act (2018:222) on Housing Adaptation Grants. In your role, you are responsible for the entire process in the grant matter. You visit the homes that are to be adapted to investigate possible measures based on both the building's construction and the applicant's specific needs. You develop appropriate technical solutions and documentation for tender inquiries. Decisions can range from stove guards, door widening, and ramps to complex renovations of bathrooms, kitchens, or elevator installations. The work requires a good legal understanding as you draw guidance from laws, legislative preparatory materials, building legislation, and current legal status to make legally sound decisions. You also review certificates from healthcare providers and maintain close dialogue with applicants, healthcare providers, property owners, and contractors. You will work in our municipal office building and have easy access to pleasant walking paths, public transportation, and free parking. Some opportunity for remote work is available. We offer wellness allowances and maintain a good work environment. Responsibilities Investigate individual needs and assess the right to grants for people with permanent functional limitations. Work closely with colleagues, occupational therapists, and external stakeholders to maintain a legally sound processing procedure. Review and evaluate medical documentation and received technical quotations. Make independent decisions and manage communication with applicants, relatives, property owners, and contractors. Conduct home visits to analyze physical barriers in the living environment and propose appropriate technical solutions. Qualifications Relevant university education such as occupational therapist, building technology education, social worker, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Several years of experience in public administration or work with housing adaptation. Driver's license We place great importance on personal suitability.
