We are recruiting two new colleagues for the autumn. About the job Our mission is to implement and deliver on the objectives of Sweden's strategy for development cooperation on migration, return and voluntary return 2024-2028. The focus of the role is to handle initiatives within the framework of the strategy. We collaborate with international and Swedish organizations and authorities working in the field of migration. You will be part of a team that works closely together, and also have close collaboration with colleagues at Sweden's foreign missions as well as with other authorities working in the field of migration. Our mission is focused on eight countries (Ethiopia and Somalia, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, as well as in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan) and in prioritized so-called migration routes. The Peace and Migration Unit is part of the Global Department which brings together global strategy and intervention management and works based on Sida's various thematic areas. The Unit is also responsible for implementing Sweden's strategy for Peace, Security and Stabilization 2024-2028, through our Peace Team. We are one unit and have joint activities. You will work at our office in Rissne Sundbyberg Work tasks Handle initiatives in accordance with Sida's rules for aid interventions (planning, preparation, dialogue and follow-up, financial and other review as well as administration and closure). Contribute to developing the joint portfolio, and contribute to analysis and reporting of results within the global migration strategy. Participate in coordinating development cooperation within Sida and with the foreign missions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice. Contribute to other tasks at the unit. Qualification requirements Education An academic degree or academic education in development issues, migration, or other related fields. Languages Very good Swedish and English Work experience and knowledge Good experience of international migration work Operational experience in driving and managing projects, including assessing collaborations with external partners in an international context Functional competencies/abilities: For this role you need to: Take initiative and be proactive Have the ability to handle stress, uncertainty and risks Be good at collaborating and building trusting relationships Have the ability to turn ideas into concrete action Contribute to new thinking and innovation Be able to use various analytical tools Be able to turn experiences and lessons into action For this role it is an advantage if you have Operational experience of international development cooperation in the field Experience from the countries or routes prioritized in the strategy Experience from different types of employers such as authorities, civil society or multilateral actors Good to know The positions entail; a permanent employment with commencement as soon as possible. A probationary period applies a special fixed-term employment until further notice but for a maximum of 12 months. Commencement as soon as possible.
