The Service Department is one of the Police Authority's national departments and consists of three units with a total of just over 720 employees. The department is part of the crime prevention mission and works with citizen services in the form of, among other things, e-services and reception activities, develops travel documents and service cards, provides public documents and register extracts. The authority's administrative matters and national telephone exchange are also included, as well as responsibility for the authority's information management. The position will be placed within the administrative law activity and includes, among other things, issuing and revoking permits to possess weapons, inspections of weapon dealers and other administrative law matters within the weapons field. Certain work tasks are performed in close cooperation with police operational activities. 2 position(s). WORK TASKS As an administrative law administrator, you work with investigating, handling, presenting and making decisions in administrative law matters. In this group, matters are handled according to the Weapons Act and Weapons Ordinance. Weapons matters include, for example, matters where private individuals or organizations apply for permission to possess weapons, for example for hunting or target shooting purposes. You will assess people's suitability to possess weapons, whether weapon permits should be revoked and how a weapon from an estate should be handled. The work involves writing decisions that you will either present to your manager or decide on yourself. The handling of administrative law matters takes place primarily in the police's digital case management system and through written and oral contact, so you need to be comfortable working with a computer and telephone as work tools. The work also includes conducting inspections of weapon dealers', private individuals', shooting clubs' and associations' physical storage and possession of weapons. The work therefore requires you to be comfortable handling physical weapons. Travel occurs in the work when conducting inspections. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • Completed upper secondary education • At least 6 months of work experience in qualified administration and decision-making in the short term that the employer deems relevant • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish • Manual B driving license It is meritorious if you also have: • Current work experience in administrative law matters that the employer deems relevant • Experience searching for and working with legislation • Experience with practical handling of weapons, for example from military service, hunting or target shooting activities • Good computer skills with experience working in case management systems and Microsoft Office suite • Experience working in a state authority or other public sector Personal qualities To succeed in the role of administrator, you should be interested in administrative work, work independently and thrive with sometimes high pace. In the work of assessing people's suitability to possess weapons, accuracy and high integrity are required. In dialogue with citizens over telephone/email and during inspections, high demands are placed on you being service-oriented with very good communication skills.
